ABOUT ABOUT OUR WINERY
Denise and Carlos Figueroa established the vineyard in 1995 using "old world" viticulture practices. Vines were planted 3 feet apart in the rows, individual planting holes were augered without disturbing the original soil structure. Average yields were ~1 ton per acre. The resulting wines produced deep complex flavors and exquisite bouquets.
Happy New Year! Once again, the 2011 harvest was very unusual and very late (by one month). As a result, only two new wines are being made this year, a new 'Tears of the Rose' blushing port wine (Merlot & Pinot Gris blend) and a new Late Harvest Pinot Gris 'Noble Mold' wine. The wines are tasting wonderfully and are due to be bottled this year.
Installation of our new vineyard addition (due west of us) is progressing slowly. Deer fencing and main irrigation lines are to be finally installed in 2012.
